Meat Cabbage Casserole

Ingredients
- Servings: 4
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 cup carrot, finely shredded
- 3 cups cabbage, finely shredded
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 dash black pepper
- 16 ounces spaghetti sauce
- 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon chives, chopped
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese, grated
Recipe
- 1 in medium skillet, saute onion in butter until soft, but not brown.
- 2 add ground beef. cook, breaking up the meat until done.
- 3 in a 2-quart buttered casserole with cover, layer the carrots and half the cabbage. sprinkle with salt & pepper.
- 4 add meat mixture, press down slightly.
- 5 add remaining cabbage.
- 6 combine spaghetti sauce, worchestershire sauce & chives.
- 7 pour sauce over top casserole.
- 8 cover & bake at 350° f for about 1 hour or until cabbage is soft.
- 9 add cheese on top, bake uncovered for another 5-8 minutes until cheese is melted.
