Stew With Cranberries (swedish Kalops)

Total Time: 1 hr 45 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 2 lbs stew meat
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 medium onions, chopped
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 16 ounces canned cranberry sauce, with whole cranberries
  • 1/2 cup water

Recipe

  • 1 heat the oil over medium high heat in a large saucepan.
  • 2 mix flour, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
  • 3 add meat to flour mixture and dredge until lightly coated.
  • 4 add the meat to the oil and cook until brown on all sides.
  • 5 top with remaining ingredients and stir. cover and cook on medium heat for 90 minutes.
  • 6 remove the bay leaves.
  • 7 serve with boiled potatoes, cabbage, or pickled beets.
