Stew With Cranberries (swedish Kalops)

Ingredients
- 2 lbs stew meat
- 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
- 1/4 cup flour
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 medium onions, chopped
- 2 bay leaves
- 16 ounces canned cranberry sauce, with whole cranberries
- 1/2 cup water
Recipe
- 1 heat the oil over medium high heat in a large saucepan.
- 2 mix flour, salt, and pepper in a large bowl.
- 3 add meat to flour mixture and dredge until lightly coated.
- 4 add the meat to the oil and cook until brown on all sides.
- 5 top with remaining ingredients and stir. cover and cook on medium heat for 90 minutes.
- 6 remove the bay leaves.
- 7 serve with boiled potatoes, cabbage, or pickled beets.
