Ham & Vegetable Stew

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 (28 ounce) can diced tomatoes (undrained)
  • 3 cups cabbage (shredded)
  • 2 cups cooked ham (diced)
  • 3 carrots (sliced)
  • 1 1/2 cups celery (chopped)
  • 3/4 cup onion (chopped)
  • 1/2 cup bell pepper (chopped)
  • 1 (16 ounce) can beans, of, your, choice (drained)
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 teaspoons dried basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 bay leaves

Recipe

  • 1 in large soup kettle, combine all ingredients.
  • 2 bring to a boil.
  • 3 reduce heat, cover and simmer for 1-1/4 hours.
  • 4 discard bay leaves and serve hot (add cooked pasta, if you wish).
