Company Cabbage Ii

Total Time: 1 hr 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 5 cups cabbage, shredded finely
  • 1 cup carrot, shredded finely
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup chicken broth, hot
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 cup butter or 1/4 cup margarine
  • 1 teaspoon prepared mustard
  • 1/3 cup pecans
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika

Recipe

  • 1 put cabbage, carrots, onion, salt and pepper in saute pan.
  • 2 pour hot chicken broth over the veggies, add more water as needed.
  • 3 cover and bring to boil, then reduce heat to simmer.
  • 4 simmer until veggies are tender ( i cook mine about 45 minutes, but it depends on how done you like your cabbage).
  • 5 melt butter in small pan. stir in pecans and mustard.
  • 6 toss to coat.
  • 7 transfer veggies to serving dish, top with butter and pecan mix, then sprinkle with paprika. enjoy.
