Fruity Red Cabbage

Total Time: 1 hr 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 30 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb red cabbage, shredded
  • 1 onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 eating apple, peeled, cored & sliced
  • 2 ounces sultanas
  • salt
  • fresh ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar

Recipe

  • 1 layer the cabbage, onion, apple and sultanas in an ovenproof dish. seasoning each layer with salt and pepper.
  • 2 mix the vinegar and water together and sprinkle over.
  • 3 cover with a piece of greasproof paper then the lid.
  • 4 bake in a preheated oven at 350f/180c (160c fan oven) for 90 minutes until tender.
  • 5 stir well before serving.
  • 6 can be cooked at higher temperature for shorter time or lower temperature for longer time - depening on what else you are cooking at the same time.
