Cabbage Rolls In The Crock Pot

Total Time: 7 hrs 30 mins Preparation Time: 30 mins Cook Time: 7 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 head cabbage
  • 1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes
  • 1 (16 ounce) can sauerkraut
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 lb lamb sausage
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/3 cup rice (i use minute rice)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 remove leaves from cabbage (10+).
  • 2 place these in kettle with small amount of boiling water.
  • 3 cover and steam for 5 minutes.
  • 4 mix sausage, beef, salt, egg, rice, and onion together.
  • 5 shape into 10-12 balls and roll each on in a cabbage leaf.
  • 6 place into crock pot, pour on the sauerkraut, tomatoes and water.
  • 7 sprinkle on salt.
  • 8 cover and cook on low 7-8 hours.
  • 9 can be baked in a casserole dish in the oven for 2 hours at 300.
