Cabbage Casserole

Total Time: 1 hr 30 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 15 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 1 lb lean ground beef
  • 1/2 cup diced onion
  • 8 cups shredded raw cabbage
  • 1 (8 ounce) can reduced-sodium tomato sauce
  • 1/2 cup water (may need more)
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried basil, crushed
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano, crushed
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper

Recipe

  • 1 in a skillet, brown beef and onion- drain off any fat.
  • 2 place half the cabbage in a non-stick sprayed 3- or 4- quart casserole.
  • 3 top with beef and onion mixture and then the rest of the cabbage.
  • 4 mix together tomato sauce, water, basil, oregano and pepper.
  • 5 pour over cabbage.
  • 6 cover and bake at 350 degrees for 75 minutes- check durnig last half hour of baking and add more water if needed.
