Great Grandmother Marshall's Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients
- 1 head cabbage
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1/2 lb ground sausage
- 1 cup cooked rice
- 1 teaspoon salt (to taste)
- 1 teaspoon pepper (to taste)
- 1 cup celery, diced
- 1 cup onion, diced
- 1 quart tomato (diced?)
Recipe
- 1 preheat oven to 300.
- 2 cook rice according to directions.
- 3 saute celery and onion in salt & pepper.
- 4 brown beef and sausage.
- 5 mix beef, sausage, onions, celery, rice, salt & pepper in a large bowl.
- 6 separate cabbage leaves, keeping them whole.
- 7 blanch leaves 5 minutes in boiling water.
- 8 remove leaves from water.
- 9 roll mix in cabbage and fasten with a toothpick.
- 10 place in covered pan or casserole.
- 11 pour tomatoes over rolls.
- 12 cook slowly for about an hour or until done.
