Transylvanian Cabbage Pie

Total Time: 1 hr 10 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • raised bread dough
  • 1 kg cabbage
  • salt and pepper
  • 3 -4 tablespoons oil

Recipe

  • 1 cut cabbage in very thin slices.
  • 2 saute in the oil adding the salt and pepper and stirring continuously.
  • 3 when thoroughly soft and tender set aside to cool.
  • 4 roll out the raised bread dough ,.
  • 5 put rolled dough, 1/2 inch thick, in greased pie pans and fill with the cooled sauteed cabbage.
  • 6 fold overlapping dough, brush with melted butter (or milk or cream).
  • 7 cover and place in a warm place to rise again.
  • 8 bake at 350° in preheated oven about 30 or 40 minutes.
