Lazy Golabki

Total Time: 1080 hrs 15 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 1080 hrs

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1/2 lb cooked crumbled ground beef or 1/2 lb lamb or 1/2 lb turkey
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 medium head cabbage, shredded
  • 1 small onion, thinly sliced into rings
  • stewed tomatoes
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • salt
  • 6 cups quick-cooking brown rice

Recipe

  • 1 combine water, cabbage, onion and tomatoes.
  • 2 bring to a boil.
  • 3 cover and simmer on medium low heat for 30 minutes.
  • 4 meanwhile, cook ground beef until done and drain off fat.
  • 5 add cooked beef and seasonings to cabbage mixture.
  • 6 simmer another 15 minutes.
  • 7 cook rice according to directions.
  • 8 with slotted spoon, serve cabbage mixture over prepared rice.
