Country Cabbage

Total Time: 30 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 3 slices bacon
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/2 cup chopped celery
  • 1 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 5 cups shredded cabbage
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 (16 ounce) can tomatoes

Recipe

  • 1 fry bacon until crisp.
  • 2 remove from skillet, set aside.
  • 3 in the same pan, add onions, celery and green pepper, cooking until tender, but not brown.
  • 4 add cabbage, sugar, salt, pepper and tomatos.
  • 5 bring to a boil, reduce heat to medium low.
  • 6 cover and cook 5-8 minutes.
  • 7 top with crumbled bacon and serve.
