Pastrami & Red Cabbage Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon prepared horseradish
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1 teaspoon caraway seed
  • 3 cups red cabbage, finely shredded
  • 1/8 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon prepared horseradish
  • 12 slices rye bread
  • 1 1/2 lbs pastrami, thinly sliced

Recipe

  • 1 in a mixing bowl, blend the mayonnaise, lemon juice, horseradish, garlic, caraway seeds, and salt and pepper.
  • 2 add red cabbage and toss to coat cabbage.
  • 3 in a small bowl, mix mayonnaise and horseradish. spread 1-teaspoon horseradish mayonnaise on each bottom half of the rye bread.
  • 4 add 4 oz. sliced pastrami on each bottom half.
