Ingredients

- 1 head cabbage
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 medium onions
- 1 cup margarine
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 (16 ounce) package wide egg noodles
- salt and pepper
Recipe
- 1 finely chop cabbage.
- 2 put in a pan with salted water to cover.
- 3 bring to a boil.
- 4 cook 5 minutes.
- 5 in the meantime, chop onions and saute in 1 c margarine until tender, approximately 10 minutes.
- 6 drain cooked cabbage, rinse with cold water, squeeze out the excess water.
- 7 mix into the cooked onion; add 1/2 c butter, mix and cook until medium browned, approximately 30 minutes, stirring to prevent overbrowning.
- 8 cook noodles 5-6 minutes.
- 9 drain; combine with cooked cabbage, mixing well.
- 10 season with salt and pepper.
