Crock Pot Cabbage Rolls

Ingredients

- 12 large cabbage leaves
- 1 lb lean ground beef (or use ground turkey or lamb)
- 2 garlic cloves, chopped
- 1/2 medium onion, finely chopped
- 1/2 cup cooked rice (or use uncooked rice)
- 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
- 3/4 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon pepper
- 1/4 teaspoon thyme leaves
Recipe
- 1 wash cabbage leaves. boil 4 cups water. turn off heat. soak leaves in water for 5 minutes. remove, drain and cool.
- 2 cook ground beef with chopped garlic and onions until browned and then mix with cooked rice, salt, pepper and thyme.
- 3 place 2 tablespoons meat mixture on each leaf and roll firmly. stack in a crockpot or slow cooker.
- 4 combine tomato paste and water and pour over stuffed cabbage rolls.
- 5 cover and cook on low setting for 8 - 10 hours.
