Cabbage Rolls

Total Time: 1 hr 20 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 1 hr

Ingredients

  • Servings: 30
  • 2 medium heads of cabbage
  • 1 1/2 lbs ground lamb
  • 1 cup rice, not cooked
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 quart sauerkraut
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 large tomato, canned
  • 1 can tomato juice

Recipe

  • 1 mix rice and meat.
  • 2 beat eggs and add to meat.
  • 3 add onion and garlic.
  • 4 in lg pot of boiling water, parboil both heads of cored cabbage.
  • 5 gently remove each leaf as it is cooked.
  • 6 slice off top of core stem on each leaf so you can roll it up.
  • 7 fill each leaf with lg"meat ball".
  • 8 layer tomatoes, sauerkraut, cabbage roll and repeat until all is used.
  • 9 pour juice over all and cook till done.
