Ingredients

- 1 head of fresh green cabbage
- 1 small onion, chopped
- salt
- sugar
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1/2 cup flour
- pepper
- 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk
Recipe
- 1 cut cabbage in 1/4 in thickness.
- 2 put in saucepan. slice and add onion.
- 3 sprinkle in salt and a little sugar.
- 4 add enough water to cover and bring to a boil; turn off heat and let stand on a burner (cabbage will continue to cook in the hot liquid).
- 5 melt the butter in a separate pan and combine with the flour and a small amount of cabbage liquid.
- 6 spoon the cabbage into the mixture; add a sprinkle of pepper along with a little more sugar and salt.
- 7 stir in evaporated milk and serve.
