Comfort, Tx. Creamed Cabbage

Ingredients

  • Servings: 6
  • 1 head of fresh green cabbage
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • salt
  • sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • pepper
  • 1 (12 ounce) can evaporated milk

Recipe

  • 1 cut cabbage in 1/4 in thickness.
  • 2 put in saucepan. slice and add onion.
  • 3 sprinkle in salt and a little sugar.
  • 4 add enough water to cover and bring to a boil; turn off heat and let stand on a burner (cabbage will continue to cook in the hot liquid).
